In 1932, a strange event happened in Australia. After World War I, some men got farms in Western Australia. But life was hard. The weather was dry, and the land was not easy to use. Then, thousands of big birds came. Emu birds. The emus stood tall, and they ran fast. They broke fences. And they ate the food growing in the ground.
