Time on the road like this was often hard, but for Hank Williams life was often hard. He was born into hard times. When he was just six, in 1929, the American economy went bad. This was the beginning of America’s Great Economic Depression. One year later, during these hard times, Hank’s father became sick, and he had to stay in the hospital for eight years.
