On 14 April 1978, soldiers broke up a church service in Kampala, Uganda. Bullets flew around the room and destroyed the organ. About 150 Christians were loaded onto trucks and taken to Uganda’s main prison. The president of Uganda, Idi Amin, had declared a holy war to make Islam the state religion. One of the prisoners that day was my father. His crime was being Christian.
