An old man was fishing alone in a small boat. He was off the coast of Cuba near the town of Cabanas. He hooked a marlin, a great fish with a long, sharp spear for a nose. The powerful fish pulled the small boat out to sea. Two days later, the old man was picked up by fishermen. He had been pulled 60 miles to the east.

The marlin was tied alongside the boat. The fish was half-eaten by sharks, and the remains weighed about 800 pounds. The old man had stayed with the fish for two...
