The monster pulled out a rope and tied Theseus’s hand to the tree. “Do you have any last words?” said the monster. “Would you like to wish me enjoyment for the meal I am about to eat?”

Theseus replied, “You will never enjoy another meal. But you will eat something.”

The giant squeezed Theseus’s arm till it almost broke, and he said, “And what exactly will I eat?”

Theseus, crying out in pain, screamed, “You will eat death!”
