Las Meninas by Diego Velázquez
Diego Velázquez (June 6, 1599 – to August 6, 1660) is one of the greatest painters of all time. With great skill he mixed color, light, space, and the rhythm of lines. He created scenes of historical and cultural significance. And he painted portraits of the Spanish royal family, of many famous European figures, and of common people. His most famous work is Las Meninas (The Maids of Honor), which was completed in 1656.
