Cuba is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea. The country is made of the island of Cuba, the Island of Youth, and a number of small islands. Cuba is just south of the US state of Florida. It is just north of Jamaica.

On January 1, 2009, Cuba marked its 50th year as a communist state. In 1959, Fidel Castro brought a communist revolution to Cuba. And Castro became Cuba's most famous leader. He ruled the country from 1959 to 2006. Then his brother Raul Castro became the leader.
