By good fortune, the poor and blind Homer found his way to a village. There he soon won many friends. Homer did not spend his time crying over his troubles. Instead, he tried to think of some way to earn his living and give pleasure to others. He soon found such a way in telling the stories of the past, and he told these stories to all who would listen.
